National Occupational Standards
ECITB National Occupational StandardsAs a nationally recognised Standards Setting Body, ECITB designs, develops and maintains National Occupational Standards for key occupational groups within the engineering construction sector. The Standards are approved by the Regulatory Authorities (QCA and SQA) and are retained within a national framework. They are freely available for a wide range of human resource development activities, and provide a basis for development of National and Scottish Vocational Qualifications. The various sets of craft and technician Standards were reviewed and updated during 2002. Additionally, in 2001 the ECITB led a cross sectoral project to develop National Occupational Standards for Project Management, and in association with The Welding Institute completed a project to define the National Occuaptional Standards pertinent to welding engineers. An ECITB led cross sectoral project to develop National Occcupational Standards for Project Control has recently been completed and the Standards have been approved.
